Hospice Perspective Medicale is an interdenominational Christian organisation that provides health care to adults facing the advancing stages of a life-threatening illness. We also provide ongoing emotional and spiritual support to patients and their caregivers. Patients are primarily diagnosed with advanced cancer. |
||||||||||

All services are provided to residents of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, regardless of ethnic origin, religion, or lifestyle. We select patients purely on grounds of need. Hospice Perspective Medicale is not affiliated to any particular religious group. |

In attending to the patients’ needs, Hospice Perspective Medicale assists them in their struggles with: |

- by building up courage to live one day at a time and educating
them about their illness Helplessness - by allowing them the freedom to make decisions for themselves Significance - by honouring their lives and assuring them of their unique value as individuals Hope - by encouraging them to regard their lives as a gift that does not end in death |

Hospice is a concept of care that goes back to medieval times, when it symbolized a place where travelers, pilgrims, the sick, the wounded or the dying found rest and comfort.

Nowadays, hospice refers to a comprehensive program of care for patients and families facing a life-threatening illness, with a limited life expectancy. Hospice is primarily a concept of care, not a specific place of care. |

||||||||||
Hospice emphasizes palliative rather than curative treatment; quality rather than quantity of life. Hospice affirms life and regards dying as a normal process. It neither hastens nor postpones death. Professional medical and nursing care is given, and sophisticated symptom relief provided. |

The patient and caregiver are both included in the care plan and emotional, spiritual and practical support is given based on the patient’s wishes and caregiver’s needs. The goal of the hospice team is to be sensitive and responsive to the special requirements of each individual and caregiver. |
